A significant share of Nadar families are Christian, and a Nadar church wedding in Nagercoil runs nothing like a Hindu Nadar muhurtham in Tirunelveli. The first question in pre-production is therefore which it is, because it determines the crew, the lighting plan and whether we need to speak to a parish in advance.

For Hindu ceremonies the sequence follows a Tamil order — nichayathartham, maalai maatral, oonjal, thaali kattu — with community customs layered on, and again we walk through your specific order rather than assuming.
The southern districts
Most Nadar weddings happen in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi and Virudhunagar, with a good number of Chennai-settled families marrying back home.
Two practical consequences. Travel and accommodation is a real line on the quote and we show it rather than hiding it. And the light down south is different — harder, brighter, and outdoor functions need earlier scheduling than they would in Chennai.
Church buildings worth using properly
The Christian churches of Kanyakumari and Nagercoil districts are among the most photogenic buildings in Tamil Nadu, and the standard mistake is treating the church as a backdrop rather than as the subject. We build in fifteen minutes for architectural and environmental portraits where the building deserves it, which it usually does.
Chennai-settled families
Many Nadar families now live in Chennai and hold the reception here while the ceremony happens in the home district. They are entirely different jobs — a church wedding in Nagercoil needs parish permissions and a low-light plan, while a Hindu muhurtham in Tirunelveli follows a Tamil ritual order with community customs layered on. We establish which during the first conversation because it determines the crew and the lighting plan.
Do you travel to Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari?
