A guest steps onto a raised platform, an arm carrying a camera sweeps around them, and the resulting slow-motion video is set to music, branded with your names, and sent to their phone within about a minute.
The output is a video, which shapes who uses it. In our experience the 360 booth pulls guests aged roughly 15 to 35 very hard and older guests barely at all. That is not a criticism, it is what to plan around. If your guest list is family-heavy and skews older, the photo magnet booth reaches far more of the room. If your crowd is young and social reach matters to you, the 360 is the better buy.
We rent both, so we have no reason to steer you. At larger receptions plenty of couples run both — they pull different queues and do not compete.
How it works on the night
- Guests step up in ones, twos or small groups; the platform holds three comfortably
- The arm sweeps, usually two rotations, filmed at high frame rate
- The clip is processed with slow-motion, your branded overlay and a music bed
- The guest enters a number and receives it on WhatsApp, typically within 60 to 90 seconds
Throughput is around 35 to 45 guests per hour, which is meaningfully lower than a print booth because each clip takes longer to shoot and process. Plan the session length accordingly — three hours reaches perhaps 120 guests.
Space, power and placement
The platform needs about 10 x 10 feet plus clearance for the sweeping arm, and nothing overhead within the arc. That clearance is the constraint people forget: a low chandelier or a decor drape hanging into the arc means the booth cannot go there.
One dedicated 15-amp point. And a stable internet connection or a mobile hotspot for the WhatsApp delivery — several Chennai banquet halls have poor mobile signal in the interior, and a booth that cannot deliver clips is a booth that has failed. We carry a dual-SIM router and we test signal at the recce.
On placement: put it on the walking route between the stage and dining. Venues will try to put booths in a side hall where they are out of the way, and a booth nobody finds is money spent for nothing.
