A grand Chennai kalyanam

Two families, three days, one unforgettable celebration in the heart of the city.

An outdoor ceremony at golden hour

Open skies, temple bells and a muhurtham lit by the setting sun.

What you actually receive

  • Teaser — 60 to 90 seconds, usually inside 72 hours. This is what the family WhatsApp groups want and it is why we prioritise it.
  • Cinematic highlight film — 5 to 8 minutes, edited as a story with a written structure rather than a chronology.
  • Feature cut — 20 to 40 minutes covering the full sequence of functions, for the family who want everything.
  • Full ceremony record — unedited or lightly edited coverage of the rituals themselves, which grandparents ask for far more often than couples expect.
  • Same-day edit where booked — a two to three minute film cut on site and played at the reception that evening.

All of it delivered within 30 days of your last function, written into the agreement.

Why the edit matters more than the camera

Two studios can shoot your wedding with identical equipment and quote wildly differently, because one budgets sixty hours of editing, grading and sound design and the other budgets eight.

Post-production is the largest line in any honest film quote and the least visible, which is exactly where corners get cut. When you compare quotes, ask how many hours of edit time are budgeted and how many revision rounds are included. That question separates the market faster than any showreel. Our full guide to what cinematic videography costs in Tamil Nadu.

Sound is half of it

The most common failure in Indian wedding films is inaudible speeches and vows. A camera microphone twenty feet from a speaker in a hall of six hundred picks up the room, not the words.

The fix is a dedicated audio feed from the sound desk to the video team, plus lavaliers where the moment warrants it. It costs nothing and it is skipped constantly. Because we also run the sound, that feed is standard on our weddings rather than something to negotiate between two vendors.

One grade across photo and film

Your film and your photographs are graded by the same colourist to the same look. Book a photographer and a videographer from different studios and you will get two visibly different weddings back from the same day — one warm and film-like, one cool and contrasty. Both fine, neither matching, and it is the thing couples regret most.

Same-day edits

An editor works at your venue through the muhurtham and cuts a short film that plays on the LED wall at the reception the same evening. It is the most emotionally effective thing you can put on a screen at a wedding.

It is quoted separately, because an editor and a machine sit at your venue all day, and it only makes sense if the reception is the same day as the ceremony. If it is not, put that money into a second cinematographer instead — usually the better buy.

Crew and cost

One cinematographer covers a small engagement or mehendi. A muhurtham needs two: one locked on the couple and the ritual, one free for family reactions and wide coverage. A large reception needs two minimum and three for proper stage-queue plus dance-floor coverage.

Every quote is built from your function list and the crew each one needs. Full detail on what each tier includes is on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a highlight film and a feature cut?

The highlight film is 5 to 8 minutes, edited as a story with a written structure — the one you will actually rewatch. The feature cut is 20 to 40 minutes covering the full sequence of functions, for family who want everything. You get both, plus a teaser inside 72 hours and a full ceremony record.

Why do wedding film quotes vary so much?

Almost entirely post-production. Two studios can shoot with identical cameras and quote very differently because one budgets sixty hours of editing, grading and sound design and the other budgets eight. Ask any studio how many edit hours are in the quote and how many revision rounds you get.

Why are speeches inaudible in most wedding films?

Because nobody ran a dedicated audio feed from the sound desk to the video team. A camera microphone twenty feet away in a hall of six hundred picks up the room, not the words. Since we also run the sound, that feed is standard on our weddings rather than something to negotiate between vendors.

Is a same-day edit worth the money?

Only if your reception is the same day as the ceremony. It is quoted separately because an editor and a machine sit at your venue all day. If the reception is on a different day, spend it on a second cinematographer instead.

How many cinematographers do we need?

One for a small engagement or mehendi. Two for a muhurtham — one locked on the couple and the ritual, one free for family reactions. Two minimum for a large reception, three if you want proper stage-queue and dance-floor coverage.

When do we get the film?

Within 30 days of your last function, written into the agreement. A teaser reel usually reaches you within 72 hours.
