Get a Free QuoteThe real reason to hire an LED wall
Most couples think of the LED wall as decor. Its first job is functional. In a hall of 600-plus guests, the people in row 20 cannot see the thaali being tied, cannot see the faces on stage, and are essentially attending a different wedding to the front rows.
A live camera feed to a screen fixes that. It is the single most appreciated thing we install at large weddings and it is almost never the thing couples ask about first.
What we run on the wall
Live feed from the ceremony
A dedicated camera on the stage, fed to the screen with minimal delay. Note the word dedicated — this is not one of your wedding cinematographers pointing their camera at the screen instead of at you. It is a separate camera whose only job is the feed, which is what stops the live wall from degrading your actual film.
Entry VFX
Animated sequences timed to the couple's entry — names, motifs from the invitation, particle and light effects synced to the entry track. Built in advance and rehearsed against the music, the sparklers and the camera positions.
Same-day edit
An editor works on site through the muhurtham and cuts a two to three minute film that plays at the reception the same evening. It is genuinely the most emotionally effective thing you can put on a screen at a wedding, and it only works if the reception is the same day as the ceremony. If it is not, spend the money on a second cinematographer instead.
Photo montage and guest content
Childhood photographs, the pre-wedding shoot, messages from family who could not travel. Simple, cheap and it plays well during the stage queue when the room needs something to look at.
Sizing and placement
Screen size follows hall depth rather than budget. A rough guide: a P3 or P4 indoor panel wall of about 10 x 6 feet for halls up to 400 guests, 14 x 8 feet for 400 to 800, and larger or twin screens above that. Two smaller flanking screens frequently beat one large central one, because a single screen behind the stage is invisible to anyone at the sides.
Pixel pitch matters more than couples expect. A P6 panel looks fine from twenty feet and looks like a mesh from five, which is a problem when it is directly behind the couple in every stage photograph. For anything close to the stage we use P3 or finer.
The thing that ruins stage photographs
A bright LED wall directly behind a couple is a lighting problem, not just a decor choice. The screen is a large light source at a colour temperature that fights everything else in the room, and if nobody balances it your stage photographs will have a beautifully exposed screen and a couple in silhouette.
Fixing it means dropping the wall's brightness during stage photography and lifting the key light on the couple. That requires the LED operator and the photography team to be the same organisation, or at minimum to be talking. This is one of the clearest cases where separate vendors quietly cost you photographs.
Power and logistics
An LED wall is one of the heavier power draws at a wedding. A mid-size wall plus processing plus the live feed chain wants a dedicated supply and a generator with automatic changeover, not a shared circuit. Ask your venue for the available load in kVA. Outdoor and farmhouse venues are where this most often falls short.
Build time is three to five hours for a mid-size wall, which usually means the night before for a morning muhurtham. Confirm your venue allows overnight access before booking — several charge from the previous evening, and that cost belongs in your comparison.
What it costs
LED wall rental is quoted on screen size, pixel pitch, number of screens and how much custom content you want. It costs less bundled with photography, since the content is built by the team already filming your wedding rather than commissioned separately.
A same-day edit is quoted as a separate line, because an editor and a machine sit at your venue all day. Full detail on the pricing page.
Before you book anyone
- "What pixel pitch, and how close will guests be?" P6 behind a stage is a mistake.
- "Is the live feed camera dedicated, or is it one of the wedding cameras?" It must be dedicated.
- "Who balances the wall brightness during stage photography?" If nobody, your stage photos will suffer.
- "What is the power requirement and does the venue meet it?" In kVA, checked with the venue, before booking.
- "When do you need access to build?" Usually the night before. Confirm the venue allows it.
Send us your venue, guest count and date and we will size the wall properly rather than selling you the biggest one available.
LED Wall & VFX — FAQs
How much does an LED wall cost for a wedding in Chennai?
It depends on screen size, pixel pitch, number of screens and how much custom content you want. It costs less bundled with a photography package, because the content is built by the team already filming your wedding.
What size LED wall do we need?
It follows hall depth, not budget. Around 10 x 6 feet for halls up to 400 guests, 14 x 8 feet for 400 to 800, and larger or twin screens above that. Two flanking screens often beat one central screen, because a single wall behind the stage is invisible to guests seated at the sides.
Will the LED wall affect our stage photographs?
It will if nobody manages it. A bright wall directly behind the couple is a large light source at a competing colour temperature, and unbalanced it leaves you with a perfectly exposed screen and a couple in silhouette. The fix is dropping wall brightness during stage photography and lifting the key light — which needs the LED operator and photography team to be coordinated.
What is a same-day edit and is it worth it?
An editor works at your venue through the muhurtham and cuts a two to three minute film that plays at the reception that evening. It is quoted separately and it is the most emotionally effective thing you can put on a screen at a wedding — but only if the reception is the same day. If it is not, put the money into a second cinematographer.
How much power does an LED wall need?
More than most couples expect. A mid-size wall plus processing and the live feed chain needs a dedicated supply and a generator with automatic changeover. Ask your venue for the available load in kVA before booking. Outdoor and farmhouse venues are where this most often falls short.
How long does it take to build an LED wall?
Three to five hours for a mid-size wall, which usually means building the night before a morning muhurtham. Confirm your venue permits overnight access — several charge from the previous evening, and that cost belongs in your venue comparison.
Can you show childhood photos and messages from family abroad?
Yes. Photo montages, pre-wedding footage and recorded messages from relatives who could not travel all play well, particularly during the stage queue when the room needs something to look at. Send us the material a week ahead.
