The light in the hills is very different from Chennai. Mornings are often misty, which is beautiful for portraits but slow to clear, and afternoons can turn grey quickly. We build a weather margin into the schedule — outdoor portraits planned for two possible windows rather than one — and carry lighting for indoor ceremonies on overcast days.
Cold is the other practical point. Pre-dawn muhurthams in the Nilgiris are genuinely cold for most of the year, so families plan shawls for elders, warm drinks and indoor areas near the mandap. The narrow ghat roads also mean crew and equipment travel the day before, never on the morning of a function.
